A case has been filed against Samajwadi Party leader and former chairman of Kampil Nagar Panchayat, Udaypal Singh Yadav, along with Suryadev and three unidentified individuals, following a complaint by Musafir, a resident of village Graspur under Kampil police station in Farrukhabad district. The allegations include assault, issuing death threats, and firing. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Complaint Details
In his complaint, Musafir stated that on the night of June 4, around 10 PM, he was returning home from village Shankarpur Harharpur. He alleged that near the house of Sukhbir Singh, Udaypal Singh Yadav, Suryadev, and three unidentified associates intercepted him. According to Musafir, the accused began abusing him due to an old dispute. When he objected, he was allegedly attacked with slaps and punches. Musafir claimed he managed to escape from the spot to protect himself, but the accused chased him.
Allegations of Firing
He further alleged that during the chase, former chairman Udaypal Singh Yadav pulled out a gun, threatened to kill him, and fired two rounds. Musafir said both shots went past him, and he narrowly avoided being hit. He also claimed the accused warned that they would kill him later. Musafir told police that the accused were angry because he did not support them during the elections. He also alleged that earlier cases have been registered against the accused at different police stations, and measures including the Gunda Act and district expulsion have previously been taken against them.
Police Action
Based on an application submitted at the Sampurna Samadhan Diwas held at the tehsil on June 15, police registered a case against Udaypal Singh Yadav, Suryadev, and three unidentified persons. Musafir also mentioned that after the incident, an agreement was reached between both sides in the presence of four individuals. However, Udaypal Singh Yadav rejected the claims, calling them untrue, and said he was being implicated for political reasons. He maintained that there was only a dispute between the two sides and that a settlement was later reached with mutual consent. Station in charge Nitin Chaudhary confirmed that a case has been registered based on the application received at the tehsil diwas.
