Municipal Inspection in Haryana's Twin Cities Finds No Misuse of Domestic Gas Cylinders
In a recent enforcement drive, the Municipal Corporation of Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) in Haryana conducted thorough inspections across hotels, eateries, and fast food centers in the twin cities. The operation, carried out on Sunday, aimed to verify compliance with the ban on commercial use of domestic gas cylinders.
Inspection Details and Findings
Under the guidance of Additional Municipal Commissioner Dheeraj Kumar and following directives from Deputy Commissioner Preeti, the MCYJ team meticulously examined multiple establishments. Despite the comprehensive checks, no instances of domestic gas cylinders being used for commercial purposes were reported in any of the inspected locations.
AMC Dheeraj Kumar stated, "The team closely examined the use of commercial gas cylinders at these places, however, commercial use of domestic gas cylinders was not found in any establishment." He emphasized that domestic cylinders are provided at subsidized rates to the general public, while separate cylinders are designated for commercial use, making such misuse strictly prohibited within the municipal area.
Future Measures and Legal Implications
To ensure ongoing compliance, Kumar announced that regular inspections will be conducted in the future. These checks are intended to maintain an uninterrupted supply of both commercial and domestic gas cylinders and uphold market transparency and fairness.
He warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found using domestic cylinders for commercial purposes. The corporation's objective extends beyond rule enforcement to fostering a fair market environment for all stakeholders.
Appeal to Business Operators
In a public appeal, AMC Dheeraj Kumar urged all hotel operators, dhaba owners, and fast food vendors to use only authorized commercial gas cylinders. This move is part of broader efforts to prevent misuse and ensure that subsidized resources reach their intended beneficiaries.
