Noida Sector 19 Residents Decry Neglected Park and Gym Facilities
Residents of Sector 19 in Noida are raising their voices against the deplorable state of their main park and open gym facilities. This early sector, home to nearly 20,000 people, has seen conditions deteriorate over months with little action from authorities.
Park in Shambles, Garbage Piles Up
RC Gupta, president of the Sector 19 Residents Welfare Association, described the main park in C block as being in complete disarray. He stated that garbage is scattered everywhere, creating an alarming situation due to lack of cleaning. This neglect directly impacts hundreds of residents, particularly senior citizens who visit the park daily for their morning walks and social interactions.
"The situation has become unbearable," Gupta emphasized. "Our elderly residents face health risks from the unhygienic conditions."
Open Gym Facilities Fall Into Disrepair
The open gym within the park, meant to promote fitness among residents, now stands in a deplorable state. Gupta called for immediate approval of a revamp plan to accommodate the growing number of senior citizens who rely on these facilities for their health and wellbeing.
Residents expressed frustration that despite the Noida Authority allocating significant funds for park maintenance, these resources remain unutilized. The gap between allocated budgets and ground reality has become a major point of contention.
Repeated Complaints Yield No Results
Laxmi Narain, general secretary of the RWA, revealed that despite multiple complaints to horticulture department officials in recent months, no improvement has occurred. The association has consistently emphasized the need for immediate action to address both the park's cleanliness and the gym's condition.
"We have approached authorities time and again," Narain said. "Our concerns about public health and community spaces continue to be ignored."
Authority Response and Future Action
Noida officials have now responded to the growing pressure, stating that the situation will be addressed. They confirmed that work to improve the park's condition will commence soon, though specific timelines remain unclear.
The residents remain cautiously optimistic, having heard similar promises before. They continue to monitor the situation closely, determined to see tangible improvements in their community spaces.
