Panchkula: Municipal commissioner Vinay Kumar on Tuesday directed officials to ensure that no garbage heap remains unattended across the city, emphasizing stricter field monitoring and prompt waste clearance.
Meeting with Sanitation Staff
The directions were issued during a meeting with sanitation staff, including door-to-door workers, assistant sanitary inspectors (ASIs), and supervisors, held at the Sector 12 community centre. The objective was to streamline coordination and improve service delivery.
Field Monitoring and Inspections
Kumar asked supervisors to step up field visits and personal inspections to ensure timely lifting of waste in all sectors and public places. He warned that negligence at any level would not be tolerated.
Door-to-Door Collection
Door-to-door collection staff were instructed to respond promptly to directions from supervisory officials and ensure immediate clearance of identified spots.
Focus on Garbage Vulnerable Points
Special emphasis was laid on Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs), with instructions for daily waste lifting and a phased plan to reduce their number across the city.
Creating a Healthier Urban Environment
The commissioner said the focus was not only on cleanliness but also on creating a healthier urban environment, and called for better coordination among staff.
Staff Grievances
Sanitation-related issues were also reviewed during the meeting, with directions for prompt redressal of staff grievances.
