Health Minister Defends Protocol Amid Political Row
Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao on Friday stated that protocol must be followed and should not be a matter of controversy, responding to recent accusations of 'protocol politics' involving her father, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh. Speaking in Rewari, Rao emphasized that protocol has always existed and must remain intact, adding that those who failed to follow it should answer for their actions.
Background of the Controversy
The dispute erupted after Rao Inderjit Singh and three BJP MLAs from Rewari district skipped a 'Khet Bachao' programme attended by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on June 30 in Bawal. Rao Inderjit claimed he and the Bawal MLA did not receive invitations. Subsequently, AICC national secretary and former Rewari MLA Chiranjeev Rao alleged that factionalism and 'protocol politics' among BJP leaders had harmed development in Rewari and south Haryana.
Arti Rao's Remarks Seen as Support for Father
Arti Rao's comments are widely interpreted as backing her father's stance. She reiterated that protocol has its relevance and should not be made a point of controversy anymore. The Health Minister made these remarks after flagging off 30 advanced life support (ALS) ambulances from Rampura village in the Bawal Assembly constituency.
New ALS Ambulances to Boost Emergency Services
The 30 ALS ambulances, equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, will be deployed across various districts of Haryana to provide life-saving treatment to seriously injured or critically ill patients during transport. Rao stated that the initiative would strengthen emergency medical services, particularly for rural and remote areas. The event was attended by Bawal MLA Dr Krishan Kumar, Rewari MLA Laxman Singh Yadav, Kosli MLA Anil Yadav, and BJP district president Dr Vandana Popli.
Tree Plantation Campaign
During the event, Arti Rao also planted a tree as part of a nationwide campaign and urged citizens to plant more trees, emphasizing that environmental protection is a shared responsibility for a cleaner and healthier future.
