The Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (JUIDCO) has announced a temporary water supply disruption in several areas of Ranchi. This interruption is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday to facilitate essential pipeline shifting work for the ongoing 1.25-kilometer Siramtoli-Bahubazar flyover project.
Details of the Pipeline Shifting Operation
According to the official statement released on Saturday, the work involves the removal of an old pipeline, the laying of a new line, and its subsequent connection to the main water supply network. This critical infrastructure activity necessitates a temporary suspension of water services to ensure safety and efficiency during the construction phase.
Residents in the affected zones are strongly advised to store sufficient water in advance to mitigate inconvenience during the two-day period. The specific localities impacted will experience a complete halt in water supply as the pipeline operations are carried out.
Flyover Project and Strategic Timing
This pipeline work is an integral component of the larger flyover construction project, which aims to connect key junctions including Siramtoli Chowk, Mecon Chowk, Yogoda Satsang Math, Bahubazar, Kantatoli, and Kokar. Officials have emphasized that the timing of this pipeline shifting was carefully planned to occur after the conclusion of major festivals like Sarhul and Ram Navami, specifically to minimize public disruption and inconvenience.
