Tripura's Panchayat Minister Kishore Barman announced that Jugal Kishore Nagar Village Committee in Sepahijala district secured the top position nationwide with an impressive score of 88.44. This achievement places it ahead of nearly 2.5 lakh gram panchayats across India, marking a remarkable feat in decentralized governance.
Multiple Panchayats Achieve High Rankings
"This success is a testament to Tripura's strong dedication to effective Panchayat governance and development," said Minister Barman. He further revealed that South Nalchar gram panchayat, also located in Sepahijala district, secured the third position with a score of 88.14. Chesrimai gram panchayat followed closely in fourth place with 87.85, demonstrating consistent excellence across multiple local bodies.

For the financial year 2023-24, all 1,176 gram panchayats in Tripura demonstrated outstanding efficiency and transparency in their operations. The state achieved 100% data submission and verification across all administrative levels, setting a new benchmark for decentralized governance that remains unmatched elsewhere in the country.
