Bihar Chief Secretary Reviews Agri Stack and Kisan Registry Progress
Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit conducted a detailed review of the Agri Stack and Kisan Registry campaign in Patna on Monday. He examined the current status of the drive and issued clear instructions to officials.
Mission Mode for Kisan Registry
Amrit directed all district magistrates to work in mission mode. He emphasized that the special campaign for the Kisan Registry will continue until January 21, 2026. The Chief Secretary set a specific target for district magistrates.
He told them to achieve at least 50% of the target within the extended period. Amrit stressed that both accuracy and speed are crucial for the project's ultimate success.
Praise for High-Performing Districts
During the review meeting, the Chief Secretary praised the performance of several districts. He specifically appreciated the working style of the district magistrates of Sheohar, Begusarai, Vaishali, Buxar, and Katihar.
He urged other districts to take inspiration from these performers and improve their own output. This recognition aimed to motivate all districts to enhance their efforts.
Review of Major State Infrastructure Projects
Earlier in the day, Chief Secretary Amrit conducted a high-level review of three significant state projects. He described these projects as vital for Bihar's development.
North Koel Reservoir, Mandai Weir, and Greenfield Road
The review covered the North Koel Reservoir Project, the Mandai Weir project, and the Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur Greenfield Road. Amrit stated these were not merely infrastructure works.
He called them the lifeline of Bihar's agriculture and connectivity. The importance of the North Koel Reservoir Project was discussed based on a detailed report from the Gaya District Magistrate.
The Gaya DM assured significant progress on the reservoir project by January 28. Regarding the Mandai Weir project, the Chief Secretary warned of a surprise inspection due to its slow progress.
Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur Greenfield Road Progress
Amrit expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur Greenfield Road project. This 51.2-kilometer corridor will directly connect Samastipur (Tajpur) with Patna (Bakhtiyarpur).
The new road is expected to reduce travel time between North and South Bihar by nearly two hours. This reduction will significantly improve regional connectivity.
Future Plans for the Corridor
The Chief Secretary also discussed the possibility of developing industrial clusters along the corridor. He highlighted the route's potential benefits for the local economy.
The road is expected to ease traffic congestion and speed up the movement of agricultural produce. Specifically, it will help transport produce from Vaishali and Samastipur to markets in Patna more efficiently.
Amrit further directed the road construction department to ensure intensive tree plantation along the new road. This instruction aims to promote environmental sustainability alongside infrastructure development.
