Punjab Police Crack Down on Goldy Brar Gang in Ludhiana
Punjab Police have made a significant breakthrough in their fight against organized crime. The force arrested ten alleged members of the notorious Goldy Brar gang in Ludhiana. This action comes after a focused three-week operation by the Ludhiana Commissionerate Police.
Major Weapons Haul Includes Foreign-Made Firearms
During the arrests, police officers seized a total of twelve sophisticated weapons from the suspects. The recovered arsenal includes two high-grade Austrian Glock pistols. Authorities also confiscated ten other foreign-made pistols from the gang members.
Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav announced the successful operation on social media platform X. He stated that the police busted an extortion module linked directly to gangster Goldy Brar.
Gang Involved in Multiple Criminal Activities
According to the DGP's statement, the arrested operatives had specific criminal responsibilities. Their tasks included trafficking illegal arms across the state. The gang members also engaged in systematic extortion activities. Police investigations suggest they were involved in planning and executing murders to create lawlessness in Punjab.
The Ludhiana police have registered formal cases against all ten accused individuals. They filed First Information Reports under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police also invoked provisions of the Arms Act against the gang members.
Ongoing Investigation and Future Actions
Police authorities confirm that the investigation remains active and ongoing. Officers are working to identify and apprehend remaining operatives connected to this criminal network. The police expect to make further recoveries of weapons and evidence as the probe continues.
This operation represents a substantial victory for Punjab Police in their ongoing campaign against organized crime syndicates. The seizure of such a significant number of weapons, particularly the Austrian Glock pistols, prevents these firearms from being used in future criminal activities across the state.
