12 BDS Students Booked for Ragging Juniors in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: In a recent incident, 12 final year BDS students of Government Dental College and Hospital in Afzulgunj were booked by Sultan Bazar police on Tuesday night for ragging first-year students. The case was registered based on a complaint from the college principal, Sanjeev Singh Yadav.

Details of the Incident

The police filed a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the TS Prohibition of Ragging Act against the 12 students. The accused allegedly subjected a group of first-year students to ragging at the men's hostel located within the Osmania Medical College campus in Koti.

College Action

Following the recommendations of the college's anti-ragging committee, the 12 students have been suspended for six months by the college administration. This action was taken promptly to address the serious issue of ragging.
