A tragic incident occurred in Lucknow's Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) area on Saturday afternoon, where a 12-year-old boy drowned while bathing in a pond. Police confirmed the incident and provided details about the event.
Details of the Incident
The deceased, identified as Samar Kanojia, had gone to bathe in a pond located approximately 400 meters from his house around noon. According to police, the boy accidentally drowned while bathing. Family members rushed him to the 100-bed hospital in BKT, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police Investigation
Upon receiving information from the hospital, a police team arrived and questioned the family members. The boy's father stated that the child had drowned while bathing and expressed no suspicion regarding the incident. The family refused to allow a postmortem examination and submitted a written request stating they did not wish to pursue any complaint in the matter.
