18-Year-Old Youth Stabbed to Death in Panipat, Haryana
In a tragic incident that has shocked the local community, an 18-year-old youth was stabbed to death in Panipat city on Saturday evening. The victim, identified as Avnish, originally hailed from Uttar Pradesh but had recently shifted to Manmohan Nagar in Panipat.
Details of the Fatal Attack
The attack occurred near Kutani road as Avnish was on his way home. According to preliminary reports, when he reached the vicinity of a drain's bridge, a group of four to five youths assaulted him with sharp-edged weapons. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack, leaving Avnish collapsed on the road in a pool of blood.
Family members, upon receiving information, rushed to the spot and transported him to Civil Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, doctors referred him to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak. Tragically, Avnish succumbed to his wounds before he could reach the hospital.
Background and Police Investigation
Nand Kishor, the brother-in-law of the deceased, revealed that Avnish had arrived in Panipat for the first time just a week prior to the incident. He emphasized that Avnish had no known enmity with anyone in the area, raising questions about the motive behind the attack.
The police have shifted the body to the mortuary at Civil Hospital for further examination. The Quilla police station has officially lodged a murder case and launched a comprehensive probe to apprehend the accused. Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing, including potential leads and witness accounts.
This incident highlights concerns over youth violence in the region, with local residents calling for increased security measures. The community is mourning the loss of a young life, as Avnish was known to run a 'gol gappa' rehri (street food cart) to support his family financially.
