Tractor Collision Claims Life of Youth in Solan
A 19-year-old motorcyclist, Aryan Thakur, was killed on Saturday morning in Bhatoli Kalan village, Barotiwala, when a tractor being driven recklessly from the opposite direction collided with his motorcycle near the Pidilite company. The driver fled the scene, leaving the tractor behind.
Local residents rushed the seriously injured Thakur to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon examination. The police later handed over the body to his family after conducting a post-mortem.
Police Register Case Against Absconding Driver
Additional Superintendent of Police (Baddi) Ashok Verma confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act against the tractor driver. The complaint was filed by Ravindra Kumar, a resident of Bhatoli Kalan, at Barotiwala police station.
According to the complaint, Ravindra Kumar was heading towards Sikka Hotel in his car when he witnessed the accident. He stated that the motorcyclist was moving ahead of him near the main entrance of the Pidilite company when a tractor coming from the front, allegedly being driven recklessly in the wrong direction, struck the motorcycle.
Vehicle Seized, Investigation Underway
The tractor involved in the accident has been seized by the police, who are now working to identify and apprehend the absconding driver. The impact of the collision was severe, causing fatal injuries to Aryan Thakur. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the driver to come forward.
This tragic incident highlights the dangers of reckless driving in the region. Police have reiterated their commitment to road safety and warned that strict action will be taken against violators of traffic rules.
