4 Arrested for Drugs; Bus Drivers Held in Phagwara

In a series of operations, Phagwara police have arrested four individuals for possession of intoxicating tablets. Pardeep Kumar of Mohalla Udham Singh Nagar, Nakodar, was caught with 13 tablets. Sahil of Kotli Gajran village in Shahkot was arrested by Nakodar police with 25 tablets. Soma of Mohalla Dherian was held by Shahkot police with 31 tablets, and Gurpreet Singh of Burj Hassan village was arrested by Bilga police with 30 tablets.

School Bus Drivers Booked for Reckless Driving

Nakodar police arrested and later released on bail two private school bus drivers, Kulwindar Singh of Mudh village and Parwindar Singh of Bajuha Khurd village, for rash driving. Mangjit Singh of Chak Vendal village filed a complaint stating that the drivers were speeding and overtaking each other near Chak Pirpur Chowk, causing a collision. One bus overturned, but all four children on board escaped unhurt.

Man Charged with Motorcycle Theft

Nakodar police have booked Sahil of Kotli Gajran village for stealing a motorcycle. Chindar Pal of Bhodipur village reported that his two-wheeler was parked outside the grain market on July 8 when it was stolen.

Couple Arrested in Rs 31.50 Lakh Recruitment Scam

Police arrested a couple, Anmol Rattan of Mohalla Dalichi, Sarhind in Fatehgarh Sahib, and his wife Mandeep Kaur, for defrauding a Shahkot woman of Rs 31.50 lakh. According to Shahkot SHO Aman Saini, the couple promised to help Raveen Kaur of Baupur Bet village get her relatives jobs in the police service. Raveen Kaur had filed a complaint with the SSP, Jalandhar (Rural).
