Khagaria Village Stunned by Heinous Crime
A horrific incident has shaken a village in Bihar's Khagaria district, where a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered. The crime occurred on Tuesday night, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Timeline of the Tragedy and Police Response
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakesh Kumar, the family reported the girl missing on Tuesday evening. After an intense search, her body was discovered on Wednesday morning in a field located near her house.
The police chief, who immediately visited the scene, stated that the body has been sent to the sadar hospital for postmortem examination. He emphasized that the matter is being investigated from all angles to ensure justice.
To aid the probe, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been requisitioned. This step is crucial for collecting scientific evidence that could be pivotal in the investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.
Separate Court Verdict in Arms Case
In an unrelated legal development from the same district, a Khagaria court delivered a verdict on Tuesday in a long-pending illegal arms case. The court awarded three-year rigorous imprisonment to Sipahi Yadav, a resident of Chhoti Madarpur under the Mahesh Khunt police station area.
First-class Judicial Magistrate Priyanka Kumari also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict. The case dates back to July 23, 1999, when an illegal firearm and a few live cartridges were seized from Yadav's possession during a police raid at his house. He was charged under relevant sections of the Arms Act.
Community Demands Justice and Safety
The brutal crime against the child has sparked outrage and fear among residents, highlighting concerns over the safety of the most vulnerable. The police investigation is now under intense scrutiny as authorities work to piece together the events of that tragic Tuesday night. The community awaits swift action and justice for the innocent victim, while the separate arms conviction underscores the ongoing legal efforts to curb crime in the region.
