80-Year-Old Man Beaten to Death by Grandson Over Property

Hisar: An 80-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his grandson over a property dispute in Kumbha village of Hansi district on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Birkha Ram, a resident of the village.

Murder Case Registered

Following a complaint by the victim's daughter, Kamlesh, a resident of Sector 1, Hisar, Sadar Hansi police have registered a murder case against the accused, Ankit, who is also a resident of the same village.

Details of the Incident

According to the complaint, Birkha Ram was living with his son Ramphal in Kumbha village. Kamlesh said she received information around 10 pm on May 21 that Ankit had allegedly assaulted her father with sticks, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to a hospital in Hansi, where doctors declared him dead.

Kamlesh said that when she, along with her sister Chandrapati, reached the village, locals informed them that Ankit had attacked Birkha Ram with sticks, resulting in his death.

Allegations of Harassment

She further alleged that her father had earlier confided that Ankit was pressuring him to transfer the house in his name. The accused would often harass the elderly man, deny him timely meals, and threaten to throw him out of the house, she claimed.

Police said a case of murder has been registered and further investigation is underway.
