Ahmedabad Police Reconstructs Dhandhuka Violence Scene in Intensified Probe

As the investigation into the violent incidents in Dhandhuka escalated, Ahmedabad rural police on Monday focused on meticulously reconstructing the sequence of events. This move followed a fatal stabbing that allegedly triggered communal unrest in the area.

Crime Scene Reconstruction with Key Accused

The police team took the key accused, identified as Rizwan Maniyar and Sameer Amdani, to various locations to recreate the crime scene. This included areas near Swastik Complex and Naseeb Society, where 29-year-old Dharmesh Gamara was fatally stabbed and where the violence is believed to have originated.

Officers stated that the exercise aimed to verify statements, establish a clear chain of events, and identify the specific roles of each accused in the incident. By physically retracing steps, authorities hope to gather crucial evidence and ensure accuracy in the ongoing probe.

Rumors Addressed and Police Clarification

Amid the intensive investigation, rumors spread in parts of Dhandhuka about another death linked to the case. Police promptly clarified that no such incident had occurred and appealed to the public not to circulate false information. This step was taken to prevent further panic and maintain social harmony in the region.

Formation of Special Investigation Team

In response to the murder and subsequent communal unrest, Ahmedabad rural police constituted a special investigation team (SIT). The team is led by Dholka division DSP Prakash Prajapati and includes a four-member panel comprising personnel from the Local Crime Branch and a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI).

Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat confirmed that the SIT is examining both the murder and the rioting incidents comprehensively. Two First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered in connection with the events.

Details of Registered FIRs

First FIR: Based on a complaint filed by Dharmesh Gamara's cousin, Rahul Gamara, this report names Rizwan Maniyar and Sameer Amdani for charges including murder and related offences.

Second FIR: Filed by PSI Harshrajsinh Zala, this report names 125 individuals for offences such as rioting, unlawful assembly, and damage to property during the violence.

Current Situation and Normalcy Efforts

Police officials have assured that the situation in Dhandhuka is now under control, with efforts being made to restore normalcy. The reconstruction of events and ongoing SIT probe are part of broader measures to ensure justice and prevent future incidents.
