The caller identified himself as Rahul Patepuria and asserted that his associate was Virendra Charan, both allegedly part of the Rohit Gidhara gang.
The extortionists demanded a staggering sum of Rs 2 crore from Rangwani, threatening to kill him if the money was not paid promptly.
