Amritsar Student Dies by Suicide Following Theft Allegation

A 19-year-old youth from Amritsar has allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Baba Deep Singh Colony on Fatehgarh Churian Road. The incident occurred on Monday morning when his mother discovered the body.

Family Blames False Theft Case for Tragedy

Family members revealed that Satyam, the deceased, had been under severe mental distress in recent days. They attributed this to a theft case registered against him. Satyam was a first-year BPharmacy student at a private college and also worked as a labourer to support his family financially.

According to relatives, the trouble began about five days ago when Satyam went to work in place of his father. During this period, the homeowners accused him of stealing Rs 35,000 and a gold ring. The family insists that no evidence supported these allegations, yet a theft case was still filed against him.

Final Hours and Discovery

On Sunday, Satyam left his home for tile work at another house. He did not return as expected, and his phone remained switched off throughout the day. This raised concerns among his family members.

The next morning, his mother found him hanging at their house. The discovery has left the family in shock and mourning. They are now calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the theft case and his death.

Local authorities have been informed and are likely to probe the matter further. This tragic event highlights the severe impact of legal accusations on young individuals, especially when combined with financial pressures and academic responsibilities.
