Police Statement on the Investigation

Balasore Sadar SDPO Subharanshu Sekhar Nayak provided details about the ongoing police efforts. He confirmed the detention of multiple people for questioning purposes. Nayak emphasized that adequate police arrangements are now in place across the district. The primary goal is to maintain law and order effectively.

Details of the Alleged Attack

According to official police reports, the victim worked as a helper in a pickup van. A group of men stopped Makarand during the incident. They reportedly assaulted him using sharp weapons and plastic pipes. A video recording of this violent event has since gone viral on various platforms.

FIR Registrations and Arrests

Police officials revealed that two separate First Information Reports were initially registered. The first FIR documented a road accident involving an overturned van. The second FIR was filed by the victim's brother. It alleged a targeted mob attack against Makarand.

Authorities have confirmed three suspect arrests so far. Further police raids are currently underway. These operations aim to identify and apprehend additional individuals involved in the case.
