Bengaluru: Two men riding two-wheelers died and three pedestrians sustained injuries when a speeding mini-bus carrying 20 private company employees rammed five vehicles near Kadirenahalli in Banashankari late Thursday night.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Uday Kumar, 60, an engineer with a private firm, and Selva Kumar, 52. The injured pedestrians, identified as Ramamurthy, Kumar, and Vasant, were shifted to a private hospital and are out of danger, according to police.
Accident Details
The serial accident occurred around 9 pm, after which the bus driver, Nagaraj, fled the scene. He was later arrested from his residence in Laggere. Nagaraj claimed that the brakes of the mini-bus failed, but police stated that his claims need to be verified with inspection reports from the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
The incident has raised concerns about vehicle safety and driver accountability in Bengaluru. Further investigations are underway.
