Bengaluru: A 47-year-old dairy farmer lost his pregnant Jersey cow valued at over Rs 1.3 lakh after it was electrocuted allegedly due to a faulty underground Bescom cable during heavy rain in Nagarabhavi, west Bengaluru, on Monday evening.

Incident Details

According to the complaint filed by Prakash, who owns around 15 cows and runs a dairy business, the incident occurred at 5:15 pm when he was taking two cows from Nagarabhavi Ramakrishna Hegde Park towards an empty site behind the government library building.

As heavy rain lashed the area, one of the Jersey cows suddenly collapsed on the ground while the other ran away in panic. Prakash reported seeing smoke emerging from the ground at the spot, and an underground cable was found damaged.
