Bengaluru Police Crack Down on Prostitution Racket, Rescue Victims

In a significant operation, the Bengaluru Police have arrested at least four individuals, including three women, for allegedly operating a prostitution racket across multiple locations in the city. The crackdown, led by the Women Protection Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB), also resulted in the rescue of six women who were reportedly forced into prostitution by the accused.

Operation Details and Raids

Acting on credible intelligence gathered from informants over several days, the CCB's Women Protection Wing uncovered that prostitution activities were being conducted in spas located in the Marathahalli area, near Sunkadakatte, as well as in a house in Manjunatha Nagar. Based on this information, coordinated raids were executed at these identified spots on different dates.

During the raids, authorities successfully rescued six women who were allegedly coerced or induced into prostitution by the suspects. The Bengaluru Police issued a statement confirming that these victims were provided with immediate assistance and support following their rescue.

Arrests and Interrogation Findings

Subsequently, four persons were taken into custody, including three women accused of forcing or luring the victims into prostitution. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the illegal operation. They admitted to contacting men seeking prostitution services via phone and directing them to the spas and house in the city, where the activities were carried out for financial gain.

Police have registered cases against the accused at multiple police stations, including HAL, Byadarahalli, and Bagalagunte, to ensure a thorough investigation. All four individuals were produced before the court on separate dates and have been remanded to judicial custody, pending further legal proceedings.

Broader Implications and Police Efforts

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by the Bengaluru Police to combat human trafficking and exploitation in the city. The Women Protection Wing's proactive approach in responding to tip-offs and conducting targeted raids underscores their commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals and dismantling illegal networks.

The rescue of the six women marks a critical step in addressing the underlying issues of coercion and abuse in such rackets. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover any additional links or accomplices involved in this case, aiming to prevent similar incidents in the future.
