Bengaluru Businessman Severely Assaulted in Violent Road Rage Incident

A 52-year-old businessman was allegedly subjected to a brutal physical assault during a road rage confrontation in the Kodigehalli area of Bengaluru on Tuesday night. The incident has triggered an intensive police investigation and a city-wide manhunt for the primary suspect involved in the violent altercation.

Police Detain Multiple Individuals in Connection with Attack

According to an official complaint filed by the victim, identified as businessman Ajit Singh, law enforcement authorities have already detained several individuals connected to the assault. Police officials confirmed that investigative efforts remain focused on locating and apprehending the main perpetrator who orchestrated the violent attack.

Traffic Dispute Escalates into Violent Confrontation

The disturbing incident unfolded at approximately 8:30 PM as Singh was approaching his residential apartment in the Tatanagar locality. The confrontation began when Singh allegedly executed a sudden right turn while driving, which prompted objections from two youths traveling on a motorcycle from the opposite direction.

The motorcycle riders accused Singh of failing to use his vehicle's turn indicator properly, sparking an immediate heated argument between the parties. Witnesses reported that the verbal exchange rapidly intensified, with both sides engaging in abusive language and aggressive posturing.

Identity Questioning Precedes Physical Violence

Police investigation reveals that the situation took a concerning turn when the youths began repeatedly questioning Singh about his residential status in the area. Despite Singh responding fluently in the local Kannada language, the assailants continued demanding identity proof and questioning whether he was a non-local resident.

The confrontation grew more dangerous as additional youths joined the group, creating an intimidating mob-like situation. The verbal dispute ultimately transformed into physical violence when the group allegedly launched a coordinated assault on the businessman.

Brutal Assault with Wooden Board

During the violent attack, the assailants reportedly beat Singh repeatedly and struck his legs with a wooden board that had been pulled from a nearby chicken shop. As Singh attempted to escape the situation by driving toward his apartment building, the attackers allegedly pursued his vehicle while issuing additional threats.

The violent episode concluded when a Hoysala police patrol vehicle arrived at the scene after being alerted by Singh's family members. The suspects fled the location upon seeing the approaching police presence, leaving the injured businessman to receive medical attention.

Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation

Kodigehalli police station has registered a formal case under sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 116 (grievous hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police officials have confirmed that several associates involved in the attack have been taken into custody, while investigative teams continue their search for the primary suspect.

Law enforcement authorities have assured the public that the main perpetrator will be apprehended soon, with the investigation focusing on gathering additional evidence and witness testimonies related to the violent road rage incident.
