Bhojpur District Administration Implements Comprehensive Security Plan for Holi Festivities
In a proactive move to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Holi celebration, the Bhojpur district administration in Bihar has rolled out an extensive security and management framework. The focus is particularly on Holika Dahan, the traditional bonfire ritual, with stringent measures to prevent any disturbances or accidents.
Mandatory Physical Verification of Holika Dahan Sites
District Magistrate Tanai Sultania has issued clear directives mandating physical verification of all designated Holika Dahan locations. No bonfires will be permitted at disputed sites, and strict instructions have been given to avoid organizing events under or near overhead power lines to eliminate fire hazards and electrical risks.
Enhanced Law-and-Order Presence and Coordination
All Station House Officers (SHOs) have been instructed to be present at the verified sites well in advance. The administration has emphasized close coordination with the power department to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and a rapid response mechanism for any emergencies that may arise during the celebrations.
High-Level Meetings and Strategic Briefings
Prior to the festivities, a joint briefing of magistrates and police officers was conducted at the Ara collectorate under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate Shashi Shekhar. This was followed by a high-level meeting on Sunday that addressed critical aspects including:
- Crowd management strategies to handle large gatherings safely.
- Enforcement of prohibition laws to maintain public order.
- Fire safety protocols to prevent accidents during bonfires.
- Emergency medical response systems for immediate assistance.
- Monitoring of sensitive locations across the district to preempt any untoward incidents.
Intensive Patrolling and Zero-Tolerance Policy
ADM Shashi Shekhar has directed officials to conduct intensive patrolling and surveillance, especially in vulnerable areas. The administration has adopted a zero-tolerance stance towards any attempts to disrupt public peace or incite violence. A press note from the DM's office warned that such actions would invite immediate and stringent legal consequences, with no leniency shown towards field officers failing in their duties.
These comprehensive measures reflect the administration's commitment to ensuring that Holi celebrations in Bhojpur are conducted in a safe, orderly, and joyous manner, allowing residents to partake in the festivities without fear of disruption or danger.
