Bhopal Bank Clerk's Suicide Over Domestic Dispute

A tragic incident unfolded in Bhopal on Tuesday afternoon when the body of a 35-year-old man was discovered on the railway tracks. The deceased, identified as a clerk at a nationalised bank, is suspected to have taken his own life following a domestic dispute.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy

Avinash Jain, a resident of Punjabi Bagh in Ashoka Garden, left his home for work with his wife around 10 am. The couple, who both worked at the same nationalised bank branch in MP Nagar's Zone-1, had reportedly engaged in a dispute before leaving. Avinash departed from the bank premises around 11:30 am.

The situation took a grim turn at approximately 12:05 pm, when Avinash sent a suicide note to his wife via WhatsApp. In the message, he indicated his intention to take an extreme step. Upon receiving the distressing note, family members immediately launched a search for him and formally reported him missing to the MP Nagar police around 1:30 pm.

Body Recovered Near Chetak Bridge

After registering a missing person's complaint, the police joined the search. The search concluded tragically when Avinash's body was found lying on the railway tracks under the Chetak Bridge in the MP Nagar locality.

Investigation Officer ASI Anup Yadav provided details of the suicide note. He stated that Avinash addressed the note to his wife, parents, and daughters. In it, he mentioned that he was solely responsible for his drastic action and acknowledged having made mistakes in his life.

Police Investigation and Aftermath

Based on the preliminary investigation and the content of the WhatsApp message, police suspect that Avinash died by suicide by jumping in front of a train. The primary motive appears to be the domestic dispute that occurred earlier in the day. The police are continuing their investigation into the full circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and highlights the severe impact of personal conflicts. It underscores the critical need for accessible mental health support and conflict resolution mechanisms, even for individuals leading seemingly stable professional lives.
