Tragic Death of Truck Driver in Buxar Following Overtaking Argument
In a distressing incident late Saturday night, a truck driver lost his life after being crushed by another truck during a heated dispute over overtaking. The event occurred in the Purana Bhojpur area, under the jurisdiction of the Naya Bhojpur police station in Buxar district, Bihar.
Details of the Fatal Confrontation
Eyewitnesses reported that heavy vehicle traffic had resumed in Purana Bhojpur after nighttime "no entry" restrictions were lifted. During this period, an argument erupted between two truck drivers regarding who should proceed first on the road. The disagreement quickly intensified, leading to a violent escalation.
One of the drivers, in a fit of rage, parked his truck on the roadside, grabbed an iron rod, and advanced toward the other driver. As he approached, the second driver allegedly did not halt his vehicle. Instead, he drove the truck forward, running over the man with the rod, resulting in immediate and fatal injuries.
Victim Identified and Police Response
The deceased has been identified as Pankaj Yadav, son of Ramayan Yadav, a resident of Mau district in Uttar Pradesh. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Local residents promptly alerted the authorities, and police from Naya Bhojpur arrived swiftly at the scene.
The body was transported to Buxar Sadar Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. In a decisive move, law enforcement officials seized the truck involved in the incident and arrested the accused driver, who is now in custody.

Chandan Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Naya Bhojpur police station, confirmed that an investigation is actively underway. He stated, "An investigation is being carried out and further legal action is being taken." The police are examining all aspects of the case, including witness statements and forensic evidence, to ensure justice is served.
