Buxar: Youth dies, two injured in truck collision, protest

A tragic road accident in Buxar district claimed the life of a 19-year-old youth and left two others seriously injured on Sunday. The incident occurred near Trilokpur Dera village on the Chausa-Kochas main road under the Rajpur police station jurisdiction when their motorcycle collided with a speeding truck.

Victims identified

The deceased was identified as Vikas Ram (19), son of Laldhar Ram, a resident of Trikalpur village. The injured youths — Arun Ram (18), son of Kamlesh Ram, and Pawan Ram (20), son of Pallu Ram — were immediately rushed to Rajpur Community Health Centre. After receiving primary treatment, both were referred to a higher medical facility due to the severity of their injuries.

Villagers protest, block road

Following the accident, angry villagers and relatives staged a protest by blocking the Chausa-Kochas main road. The protesters demanded adequate compensation for the victim’s family and the immediate arrest of the truck driver responsible for the collision. The road blockade resulted in long traffic jams on both sides of the route, disrupting vehicular movement for several hours.
