Chandigarh Police Makes Major Arrests in Sector 38 Murder Case
Sector 39 police in Chandigarh achieved a significant breakthrough in a shocking daylight murder case. Officers arrested two individuals, including the main accused, for the killing of Sumit alias Golu in Sector 38. The arrests mark a crucial step forward in the ongoing investigation.
Details of the Arrested Individuals
Police identified the arrested youths as Krish alias Kasu, aged 19, and Aryan alias Honey, aged 18. Both suspects reside in Dadumajra Colony within Sector 38 of Chandigarh. Authorities took them into custody on Saturday morning following intensive technical surveillance.
Recovery of Evidence
The investigation team successfully recovered key evidence from the crime scene. Officers found the knife used in the murder along with the Bullet motorcycle involved in the incident. Both recoveries occurred based on identifications provided by the accused themselves during questioning.
Legal Proceedings and Autopsy
Police plan to produce both suspects before the district court on Sunday. They will seek police remand for further interrogation to establish the complete sequence of events. Meanwhile, authorities conducted an autopsy of the deceased at Govt Multi-Specialty Hospital in Sector 16 on Saturday. A board of doctors performed the post-mortem examination before handing the body over to family members.
Family Response and Cremation
The victim's family had previously stated they would not perform last rites until police arrested the accused. After authorities confirmed both arrests, the family proceeded with cremation at the Sector 25 cremation ground. This development brought some closure to the grieving relatives.
Investigation Methods and Background
SHO Ram Dayal of Sector 39 police station formed a special team immediately after the murder. Investigators relied on CCTV footage analysis and mobile location tracking to trace the movements of the accused. Their technical approach led directly to Saturday's arrests.
During questioning, police uncovered a long-standing feud between the two groups involved. The groups had clashed several times in past years across various locations including Bapudham, Sector 17, and Sector 25. Investigators now examine this history of hostility as a key aspect of the murder motive.
Threatening Videos and Social Media Activity
Following the murder, main accused Krish recorded a disturbing video issuing open threats. He declared that further killings would occur, stating clearly, "Now murders will happen; we will lay down bodies." Police revealed he created a social media ID under the name "Kishnu" specifically to post such threatening content.
Family members of the deceased alleged the accused continued posting videos and issuing threats even after committing the murder. This brazen behavior added to the urgency of the police investigation and subsequent arrests.
