Chennai Man Arrested for Killing Father After Quarrel

A 27-year-old man was arrested for strangling his father to death following a quarrel at their house in Vandalur on Wednesday night. The deceased, Perumal, aged 51, was a roadside vendor from Otteri in Vandalur.

According to police, his son Ajith Kumar had returned home in an inebriated state at around 11 pm. When an argument broke out between the duo, Ajith strangled his father to death using a towel. He later called his mother, who was staying at her daughter's house in Maduravoyal, and said Perumal had suddenly collapsed.

However, a 108 ambulance team that reached the spot suspected foul play and alerted the police. Vandalur Otteri police rushed to the scene, and during questioning, Ajith Kumar confessed to the crime. He was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
