Elderly Couple Targeted by Bike-Borne Duo
D Baskar, aged 65, and his wife B Malarkodi, 53, were returning home to Old Washermenpet after visiting their daughter in Mylapore. The couple was traveling on their motorbike when two men on another motorcycle approached them from behind.
As they neared Queen Mary's College, the pillion rider attempted to grab Malarkodi's gold chain. When Baskar tried to steer away from the attackers, the robbers instead pulled at Malarkodi's handbag with force.
The violent tug caused both victims to lose balance and fall to the ground. The assailants escaped with Malarkodi's mobile phone, valued at approximately 7,000 rupees.

The fall resulted in significant injuries for both victims. Baskar suffered a shoulder fracture and leg bruises, while Malarkodi sustained injuries to her head and ear.
