Bus Hits Six Parked Vehicles in Morning Mishap
Twenty students of Chitkara International School survived a scare when their school bus rammed into six stationary vehicles in Panchkula on Tuesday morning. The bus, which was on its regular route to pick up students, lost control and struck cars parked on the roadside, causing major and minor damages to six vehicles.
Residents Rescue Students, Police Reach Spot
Area residents quickly responded to the incident, helping the children exit the bus and attending to them. Passersby alerted the police, and Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) teams arrived at the scene. No injuries were reported among the students or the driver.
Investigation Underway: Mechanical Failure or DUI?
Police are investigating the cause of the accident, focusing on whether it was due to mechanical failure or if the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The bus driver is being questioned, and authorities are examining the vehicle's condition. According to Gaurav Kanthwal of Tribune News Service, the incident occurred around 10:24 AM IST on July 7, 2026.
