The victim has been identified as Balan, a 65-year-old painter residing on Ayyappanar Street in Chokkampudur. Balan was the father of two sons: B Sathish Kumar, aged 38, and B Ashok Kumar, aged 35. According to police sources, both sons were known to be habitual drinkers, and their home was frequently marred by domestic disputes stemming from their alcohol consumption.
The Fatal Night and Police Response
On the fateful Sunday evening, Ashok and Sathish returned to their home in an inebriated state. An argument quickly erupted between the brothers, escalating into a heated confrontation. In an attempt to calm the situation, Balan intervened to pacify his sons and reprimand them for their unruly behavior.
