Coimbatore: Woman, paramour, two others arrested for murdering husband
Coimbatore: Wife, lover held for husband's murder

Police in Coimbatore district have cracked a chilling murder case, arresting four individuals including the victim's wife and her alleged lover. The Kinathukadavu police took into custody a woman named Indhirani, her paramour Vinoth, and two of his associates for the brutal killing of her husband, R Deva alias Rathish.

The Missing Person Complaint and Investigation

The case came to light when R Susila, 48, the victim's mother, approached the Kinathukadavu police on December 28. She reported that her son, 27-year-old labourer R Deva, had gone missing from their home in Nallatipalayam near Kinathukadavu after a quarrel with his wife on the night of December 26. Despite searches by relatives and neighbours, he could not be traced, prompting police to register a missing person case.

During the investigation, officers questioned the wife, Indhirani (27). Police found her statements to be contradictory and inconsistent. Upon sustained interrogation, she eventually broke down and confessed to her involvement in her husband's murder.

The Murder Conspiracy and Execution

Indhirani revealed to the police that her marriage to Deva, which began four years ago after they met on social media, was fraught with tension. She claimed her husband often doubted her character, leading to frequent fights. The couple has a three-year-old son.

Driven by this discord, Indhirani allegedly hatched a plan with her paramour, Vinoth (35), a native of Karur. On the fateful night of December 26, she brought Vinoth and his two friends, Suresh (43) and Babu (also from Karur), to her house. The trio then attacked and murdered Deva using knives.

To cover up the crime and mislead investigators, the accused devised a macabre plan. They shifted Deva's body from the house in Coimbatore district all the way to Karur. Shockingly, investigations revealed they used an ambulance for this purpose. The body was dumped near a railway track in Karur to create a false impression that Deva had died in a train accident.

Arrests and Ongoing Probe

Following Indhirani's confession, the Kinathukadavu police swiftly altered the case from a missing person report to a murder investigation. They arrested the four primary accused: Indhirani, Vinoth, Suresh, and Babu. All four were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody on Thursday.

The police are now intensifying efforts to trace the ambulance driver who allegedly facilitated the transportation of the body. This detail is considered crucial to establishing the complete chain of events and ensuring all accomplices are brought to justice.

This gruesome crime, involving extramarital affair, conspiracy, and a staged accident, has sent shockwaves through the local community in Coimbatore district. The police's methodical investigation, which pivoted on questioning the wife's inconsistent statements, proved key to unraveling the plot.
