A 23-year-old courier delivery person was stabbed by four men in Bengaluru after he honked at them when they blocked his path. The incident took place in the Banaswadi area of east Bengaluru on the night of May 9.
Incident Details
According to the complaint filed by the victim, identified as Appu, a resident of Sathyanagar, the altercation occurred between 10pm and 10.30pm. Appu was returning home after work on his two-wheeler when he encountered a group of men blocking the road on I Cross. When he honked and requested them to make way, the situation quickly escalated.
The men allegedly picked up a quarrel with Appu, and one of them stabbed him on the upper left side of his chest. As Appu cried out in pain, other residents and passers-by rushed to the spot, prompting the assailants to flee the scene.
Medical and Legal Action
Appu's elder brother immediately took him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered under Section 118 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means. Police are investigating the matter and searching for the four accused.
This incident highlights the growing concern over road rage and violence in urban areas. Authorities urge citizens to remain calm and report such incidents to law enforcement rather than taking matters into their own hands.
