A fast track court in Hisar has convicted a youth from Sirsa for the rape of a minor girl from Ellenabad, sentencing him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 25,000. Details of the Case
The case dates back to June 2024, when the accused, who is the victim's cousin, visited her house while her parents and other family members were away. He sexually assaulted the minor, who was then studying in Class X and was the youngest of three siblings. The assault resulted in the victim becoming pregnant, and she later gave birth to a child.
Discovery and Legal Action
The matter came to light when it was reported to the police, and the Child Welfare Committee took suo motu cognisance. In her complaint, the 17-year-old girl stated that the accused frequently visited their home. On the day of the incident in June 2024, the family was away, and he assaulted her. The minor delivered the baby at the civil hospital in March 2025.
