Delhi HC asks Anjana Om Kashyap, Khan Sir to show restraint

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday called for restraint and an amicable settlement between journalist Anjana Om Kashyap and educator Khan Sir, asking them to consider removing 'unparliamentary' references from their social media posts.

Court's Directive for Restraint

Justice Navin Chawla, hearing a defamation case, urged both parties to show restraint and avoid making inflammatory statements. The court emphasized the need for decorum, especially given their public influence.

Background of the Dispute

The case stems from a series of social media exchanges between Kashyap and Khan Sir, where both made allegations against each other. Kashyap filed a defamation suit claiming Khan Sir's posts harmed her reputation, while Khan Sir filed a counter-complaint.

Call for Amicable Settlement

The court suggested that the defendants voluntarily delete or edit posts containing offensive language. 'We expect both sides to show restraint and consider an amicable resolution,' the bench noted. The next hearing is scheduled for July 16.
