Delhi Home Burgled: Gold, Cash Worth Lakhs Stolen

Delhi Cable Operator's House Burgled in Midnight Raid

A cable television operator's residence in west Delhi's Madipur area became the target of a daring burglary early Saturday morning. Thieves made off with a substantial haul of valuables, including gold ornaments estimated to be worth between eighty and ninety lakh rupees.

Stolen Valuables Include Cash and Silver

The victim, Shailendra, reported that the burglars also took approximately five lakh rupees in cash. Additionally, silver articles weighing between two point five and three kilograms were stolen from the house. The total claimed value of the missing items is significant, prompting a detailed police investigation.

Sequence of Events Unfolds

Shailendra, who works as a cable operator in the Ajmeri Gate area, had locked his home and departed around eight o'clock on Friday evening. He left to attend a wedding function for a relative. When he returned the following morning at about eight thirty, he immediately noticed clear signs of a forced entry.

The main door lock remained undisturbed, but a kitchen window was found wide open. Inside, the house appeared ransacked, with belongings scattered about. However, it seemed the thieves focused their efforts primarily on one almirah, which contained the most valuable items.

CCTV Footage Reveals Suspects

Closed-circuit television footage from the premises provided crucial clues. The video showed two individuals entering the property at approximately three fifteen in the morning. The men gained access by cutting through a protective grill. Shailendra later pointed out the ransacked state of his home to members of the media.

Police Launch Comprehensive Investigation

Authorities received a PCR call about the incident at the Madipur police post, which operates under the Punjabi Bagh police station. Officers have already conducted a thorough inspection of the crime scene. They are now meticulously scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding neighborhood.

The goal is to reconstruct the exact sequence of events and identify the suspects involved in the theft. Police officials confirmed that an First Information Report has been formally registered at the Punjabi Bagh police station. They are also in the process of verifying the exact value of the stolen gold, cash, and silver articles as claimed by the victim.
