WE CARE programme event at Shri Ram Global School
Under the ‘WE CARE’ programme, the Delhi Police held an interactive child safety event at Shri Ram Global School in Tikri Kalan. The programme began with a performance by the Delhi Police Orchestra Band, followed by self-defence demonstrations by the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC). The SWAT team also interacted with students and explained its specialised security operations.
Cyber safety and traffic awareness sessions
Officials from the Outer district Cyber Police Station conducted sessions on cyber safety and online security, while traffic police personnel held interactive classes on road safety. Students took part in quizzes on traffic rules, and red, yellow and green caps were distributed to reinforce traffic signal awareness. A tug-of-war competition was also organised to promote teamwork.
Impact and reach of the campaign
The campaign aims to empower young girls with essential safety skills. According to a Delhi Police official, the initiative has seen overwhelming participation from schools across the capital. The self-defence training and cyber safety workshops are designed to equip girls with practical knowledge to protect themselves in various situations.
