A devastating road accident in Dhanbad's Sindri area on Friday resulted in the tragic deaths of a woman and her son after their scooter violently collided with a school van. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The accident occurred near BBM College, within the jurisdiction of the Baliyapur police station. According to eyewitness accounts, the school van was in the process of dropping children at their homes when the two-wheeler, coming from the opposite direction, slammed into it at a very high speed.
The impact of the head-on collision was severe. Both riders of the scooter sustained grave injuries on the spot. The van was reportedly carrying school children at the time, though no injuries to them were reported in the initial information.
Victims Identified by Police
Satyajeet Kumar, the Officer-in-Charge of Baliyapur police station, provided crucial details about the victims. He confirmed that the scooter was being driven by Anish Kumar Ojha (27), who succumbed to his injuries at the accident site itself.
His mother, Ruby Devi (55), who was riding pillion, was rushed to the Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital for urgent treatment. Tragically, she could not be saved and passed away in the evening. The police confirmed that both deceased were residents within the limits of the Baliyapur police station area.
