In a shocking turn of events, a late-night murder in Gondikheda Charan village of Dhar district on Tuesday has been revealed as a meticulously planned crime, with the victim's wife emerging as a key accused after her initial robbery narrative quickly unraveled. Priyanka Purohit had initially reported to the police that three to four men forcibly entered their home at night, held her and her husband hostage in separate rooms, and fled after killing her husband, Devkrishna, while stealing jewellery worth approximately Rs 3 lakh and Rs 50,000 in cash. However, this account began to fall apart within hours as investigators discovered critical inconsistencies. The supposedly looted ornaments were recovered from within the house itself, raising immediate red flags and casting doubt on the robbery claim.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Parul Belapurkar highlighted that Priyanka's statements were riddled with contradictions, her behavior appeared suspicious, and crucial mobile evidence was missing, all pointing to deliberate deception. The investigation revealed that Kamlesh had allegedly paid around Rs 100,000 to an accomplice named Surendra to execute the killing, while the duo meticulously scripted the crime to resemble a break-in. Surendra is currently absconding, and authorities are actively pursuing his arrest. The motive behind the murder was driven by Priyanka and Kamlesh's relationship and their desire to eliminate her husband, Devkrishna, to whom she had been married since she was approximately 15 years old.
