Dhubri Lottery Counter Owner Detained for Fake Tickets

In Dhubri, the owner of a lottery counter was taken into custody on charges of selling counterfeit tickets. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement authorities conducted a raid at the establishment and confiscated all tickets, register books, and other documents present at the counter.

Police Action and Investigation

A police source revealed that they had received intelligence suggesting the counter was involved in selling fake West Bengal government lottery tickets alongside some genuine ones. Following the raid, the accused was detained and interrogated. However, as of now, no concrete evidence has been uncovered against him. Despite this, police officials have stated that the investigation is still ongoing and expressed confidence that the counterfeit ticket network will be exposed.

Release on Personal Bond

Pritam Das, the officer in charge of Dhubri police station (Sadar), confirmed that the accused was released on a personal bond on Sunday. The authorities continue to probe the matter to determine the extent of the fraudulent operation.
