The chaotic incident sent shockwaves through motorists and local residents who witnessed the terrifying event.

M Division traffic police swiftly responded to the situation. They detained a 55-year-old resident of Gandhinagar following complaints from victims and eyewitnesses. The incident occurred around 8:45 PM on the stretch between Montecristo and the Shilaj Bridge along the Sola-Bopal Road corridor.
According to police reports, the driver was traveling at high speed when he lost control of his vehicle. The car first struck a two-wheeler before plowing into a series of parked and moving vehicles. This chain reaction created substantial damage across multiple automobiles.
Victim Details Injuries and Property Damage
One of the complainants, Sobendra Dubey, shared his harrowing experience with authorities. The 29-year-old real estate salesman was riding a friend's motorcycle when the car hit him from behind. The impact threw Dubey onto the road, causing injuries to his knees, forehead, left hand, and back.

Eyewitnesses Describe Intoxicated Behavior
Multiple eyewitnesses reported clear signs of intoxication in the driver. They claimed he could barely stand after exiting his vehicle. Social media videos quickly circulated showing the man staggering and repeatedly losing his balance as angry locals surrounded him.
The crowd eventually restrained the driver and handed him over to police authorities. These visual recordings provided compelling evidence of his impaired state following the collision.
Police Investigation Confirms Alcohol Influence
Traffic police officials confirmed the driver sustained minor injuries during the incident. They took him for a medical examination to verify intoxication levels. A traffic police official stated, "Preliminary inquiry suggests the driver was under the influence of alcohol and driving recklessly."
Though no fatalities occurred, several vehicles suffered severe damage. The busy ring road experienced significant traffic disruption for some time as authorities managed the aftermath. M Division traffic police registered a formal case against the car driver based on multiple complaints and continue their investigation into the matter.
