A tragic road accident in Greater Noida claimed the lives of an 18-year-old man and his 26-year-old sister, while her one-month-old infant sustained a leg fracture after a dumper crashed into their motorcycle from behind on Dadri Road in Ecotech-3 on Sunday evening.
Details of the Incident
The deceased were identified as Kunal, a resident of Faridabad, and his elder sister Komal, who was married in Badhpura village near Dadri. Komal's infant daughter was traveling with them and suffered injuries in the crash. She is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
According to police, the accident occurred around 6:30 PM when Kunal had come to Greater Noida to take his sister back to her parental home in Faridabad. The siblings were riding on Dadri Road with the baby when a speeding dumper slammed into their motorcycle from behind.
“Both the brother and sister fell onto the road and came under the dumper’s wheels. They died before they could be rushed to a hospital,” a police officer stated. The baby, who was in her mother’s lap, survived but suffered a fracture in one leg.
Police Response and Legal Action
After a PCR call to 112, a team from Ecotech-3 police station reached the spot and rushed the child to the hospital. Doctors said the infant is under observation. Police arrested the dumper driver on the spot and seized the vehicle. A case was registered on the family’s complaint under BNS sections 281 (rash driving), 106(1) (causing death by negligence), and other relevant provisions.
“The accused driver has been arrested. We have initiated an investigation into the sequence of events,” a senior officer said.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the dangers of reckless driving on busy roads. Residents have called for stricter enforcement of traffic rules and better road safety measures to prevent such tragedies.
