ED Seizes Rs 49 Cr in Cash, Jewellery & Assets in Raid Linked to Haryana Criminal
ED seizes Rs 49 crore in raid linked to absconding Haryana criminal

In a major crackdown, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized a massive haul of cash, jewellery, and asset-related documents worth crores from a residential property in South Delhi. The operation is part of an ongoing money laundering investigation targeting associates of absconding Haryana-based criminal Inderjit Singh Yadav.

Massive Haul from South Delhi Premises

The federal probe agency conducted searches at a house in Sarvapriya Vihar, which is linked to a person named Aman Kumar. Officials stated that Kumar is an alleged associate of the main accused, Inderjit Singh Yadav. The raids, which began on Tuesday, continued through Wednesday.

To handle the large volume of cash, bank officials with currency counting machines were summoned to the location. The seizures so far include Rs 5.12 crore in cash and a suitcase packed with gold and diamond jewellery valued at Rs 8.80 crore. Furthermore, a bag containing bank cheque books and documents linked to properties and assets worth approximately Rs 35 crore was also confiscated.

The Absconding Kingpin and His Alleged Empire of Crime

The money laundering case stems from 14 FIRs and chargesheets filed by police in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh against Yadav and his network. The ED describes Yadav as a known "strong man" involved in a litany of serious crimes including murder, extortion, illegal land grabbing, fraud, and violent offences.

According to the agency, Yadav, who is the owner and key controller of Gem Records Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (Gems Tunes), is currently absconding and operating from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He is wanted in multiple cases by Haryana Police.

The ED alleges that Yadav's modus operandi involved acting as an enforcer for coercive settlements of high-value private loan transactions. Corporate entities, including Apollo Green Energy Ltd., allegedly borrowed huge sums in cash from private financiers based in Dighal and Jhajjar, Haryana, and issued post-dated cheques as security.

"Yadav acted as a strong man and enforcer, facilitating coercive settlement of these high-value private loan transactions and financial disputes running into hundreds of crores of rupees," the ED stated. These settlements were allegedly executed through threats, intimidation, and the use of armed associates.

Previous Raids and the Flow of Illicit Money

This is not the first action in this case. The ED had previously conducted searches on December 26 and 27 at ten locations across Delhi, Gurugram, and Rohtak. During that round, the agency seized five high-end luxury cars, Rs 17 lakh in cash, and froze several bank lockers.

The probe reveals that Yadav allegedly earned commissions worth hundreds of crores of rupees from corporates for settling their financial disputes. The ED claims this illegally generated income was then used to acquire immovable properties, luxury cars, and fund a lavish lifestyle, while declaring minimal income in tax returns.

Efforts to contact either Inderjit Singh Yadav or Aman Kumar for their comments on the ED's allegations have been unsuccessful so far. The investigation into the sprawling network and the trail of the seized assets continues.
