The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a summons to IAS officer Amoy Kumar in connection with a land-related case in Hyderabad, directing him to appear before the agency on May 25. According to ED sources, the joint collector and the sub-registrar associated with the case have also been summoned.
Separate ECIR Filed
The ED stated that this is a separate Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) in which Amoy Kumar is being examined regarding alleged land transactions. Previously, he was summoned by the ED in connection with the Bhoodan land case as well.
Previous Questioning
Sources revealed that Kumar was earlier questioned for seven hours in relation to a land dispute case in Maheswaram. Currently serving in the animal husbandry department, Kumar was the collector of Ranga Reddy district when the alleged offense took place. The ED has summoned him again as the recording of his statement remains incomplete.
Dharani Portal and 22-A List Under Scrutiny
The ED's investigation stems from a First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Maheswaram police in 2023. Although Amoy Kumar is not named as an accused at present, ED sources indicated that his role is under scrutiny. During questioning, the agency asked him about the use of the Dharani portal, the registration of properties listed under prohibitory categories, and the removal of properties from such lists.
The Dharani portal, which is used for land records management in Telangana, has come under the scanner. Properties listed under the 22-A prohibitory list have been a focal point of the investigation.
