Engineer Files Complaint for In-Flight Harassment

A 24-year-old software engineer based in Hyderabad has lodged a police complaint against a fellow passenger, accusing him of inappropriate physical contact during a flight from Guwahati to Hyderabad. The incident occurred on a recent evening, prompting the airport police to register a criminal case and initiate an investigation.

Complaint Details

The complainant boarded the flight from Guwahati at 8:45 p.m. on Monday. During the three-hour journey, she alleged that a male passenger seated next to her engaged in misconduct. According to her statement, he repeatedly extended his arms and legs into her personal space, causing her discomfort. Initially, she thought the contact was accidental, but she later realized it was intentional. When she woke up from sleep and asked him to keep his limbs within his own space, he apologized but continued the behavior, ultimately touching her private parts.

Witnesses and Evidence

The complainant also claimed that the accused glared at her aggressively when she confronted him. Some other passengers reportedly noticed his unpleasant behavior. Upon landing in Hyderabad, the accused asked the complainant to delete the videos she had recorded of his actions, but she refused. Instead, she approached the police in the early hours of Tuesday.
