Former Flight Instructor Faces Rape Charges in Hyderabad Aviation Academy Case

Hyderabad: A former flight instructor at an aviation academy in the city has been formally booked for rape by the Begumpet police. This action follows a detailed complaint filed by a female trainee pilot who accused him of sexually violating her. The police have confirmed that they are actively working to apprehend the 30-year-old accused, who is currently residing in his native place in Kerala.

Survivor's Allegations and Police Investigation

The survivor approached the Begumpet police station on Tuesday, alleging that her instructor had manipulated her by promising to help her achieve a high score in her aviation course. In exchange, he demanded sexual favours. According to her statement, the accused committed the offence at his paying guest accommodation located in Brahmanwadi.

Inspector P Saidulu of the Begumpet police told reporters that the incident reportedly occurred last year. However, the survivor chose to file her complaint only recently. Upon initial enquiry, it was discovered that the accused had resigned from his position at the aviation academy several months ago and subsequently relocated to Kerala.

Detailed Account from the Complaint

In her formal complaint, the survivor described having a close, brotherly relationship with two instructors, including the accused. She frequently visited his residence for study sessions. During one such visit in December 2025, the accused became emotional while discussing his failed marriage and insisted she stay longer at his house.

"Due to this, the complainant stayed for some more time. When she went inside the room, the accused began crying about his life and then locked the door. He then forcibly hugged her despite her resistance. The complainant stated that she became scared and attempted to leave, but he overpowered her, covered her mouth to prevent her from shouting, and forced himself on her against her will," the police detailed, quoting directly from the complaint.

Legal Action and Ongoing Probe

Based on her allegations, a case has been registered under Section 63 (Rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the former instructor. As the Begumpet police commenced their investigation, they uncovered additional complexities. It was revealed that the complainant approached them just one day after a criminal case was registered against her mother and brother in Kerala.

"We are yet to ascertain facts as the investigation has just begun. It appears that the complainant and accused were in a relationship for some time. Apart from that, why did the woman's family members go to Kerala a few days ago and what case was registered against them is also under probe to understand the whole issue," the police stated, highlighting the multifaceted nature of the inquiry.

Authorities also noted that the aviation institute where both the survivor and the accused were previously associated was completely unaware of these serious allegations until the police investigation began.
