Ex-Minister SUV Theft: Fifth Accused Arrested

The CIA Kosli team of Rewari police has arrested a fifth accused in connection with the theft of former minister Jaswant Singh's Scorpio SUV. The vehicle was stolen from outside his residence on the night of March 28. The accused has been identified as Firoz Kathaat, a resident of Hathun Bakala village in Rajasthan's Beawar district.

Arrest Details

Firoz Kathaat was arrested on a production warrant by a team led by CIA Kosli in-charge Sub-Inspector Subhash Chand. The police had earlier arrested four other accused in the case: Richpal, Surendra Singh, Himmat Singh, and Narender Kathaat alias Naresh, all residents of Rajasthan.

Incident and Investigation

Former minister Jaswant Singh, a resident of Sector 3, Rewari, lodged a complaint at Model Town Police Station on March 29. He stated that he had parked his black Scorpio outside his house on the night of March 28, but found it missing the following morning. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case of vehicle theft and launched an investigation that led to the arrests.

Recovery and Ongoing Probe

The stolen Scorpio has already been recovered by the police. The investigation into the case is continuing, with authorities looking into possible links to a larger vehicle theft ring operating across state borders.
