Mysterious Night Explosion Damages Retired Employee's Home in Ganjam Village
A sudden explosion rocked the quiet of Chikalakhandi village in Ganjam district late on Monday night, causing partial damage to the residence of a retired government employee. The incident, which occurred around midnight, sent shockwaves through the local community and prompted an immediate police response.
Family Escapes Unharmed Amid Structural Damage
The houseowner, identified as G Kamaraju Reddy, was sleeping with his wife and son when the loud explosion shattered the nighttime calm. The family members immediately rushed out of their home upon hearing the deafening sound, escaping without any physical injuries despite the significant structural damage to their property.
The explosion caused substantial damage to one wall of the house, which collapsed completely under the force of the blast. Furniture inside the home was thrown about, and numerous household items were destroyed or damaged in the incident. The violent nature of the explosion created panic among neighboring villagers, many of whom rushed to the scene after hearing the loud noise.
Police Launch Multi-Angle Investigation
Senior police officials, including SDPO of Chhatrapur Chandan Ghadei and inspector in-charge of Chhatrapur police station Sabyasachi Malla, promptly arrived at the site to assess the situation and initiate an investigation. Three specialized police teams have been formed to conduct a thorough probe into the mysterious explosion.
Inspector Sabyasachi Malla stated, "We suspect the explosion might have taken place inside the house itself. Since the houseowner has no known enmity with anyone in the village, we don't believe miscreants deliberately hurled bombs at the property." Despite this preliminary assessment, authorities are examining the incident from multiple perspectives to rule out all possibilities.
Forensic Evidence Collection Underway
The investigation has expanded to include technical and forensic approaches. Police are currently scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify any suspicious activity or individuals around the time of the explosion.
